Relaxation and Self-Care Tips!

I think I can speak for most of us when I say that 2019 has definitely already been full of non-stop action. Between working long hours at work, taking difficult classes in school, and handling our personal responsibilities at home.  Not to mention that many of us are working non-stop to better our lives and follow our dreams. Considering all of that, it’s safe to say that life can get pretty hectic and stressful.

Now I know what you may be thinking,

“Investing in my dreams means I have to grind hard”

Or maybe you’re thinking..

“I’ve got to keep working so I can make sure everything is taking care of.”  

Well, to a certain extent I do agree.

Sometimes, handling your business and going after your dreams does require some type of sacrifice to your comfort and even your personal health. Maybe staying up a little longer past your bedtime to study for that big test or pushing yourself to prepare for that big presentation at work.

However, contrary to popular belief, grinding hard and not giving your body, mind, and spirit the rest it requires, actually hinders you from accomplishing your dreams rather than helping you accomplish your dreams. As important as it is to grind hard, it’s equally as important to relax and take care of yourself.

Now at this point some of you may be wondering, “well how do I learn how to balance my busy life with relaxing?”

Well, no worries because I’m about to give you the answer.

I am going to give you four quick tips on how to incorporate self-care and relaxation techniques into your life so you can learn to balance everything out.

 

1. Start each day with a morning meditation.

 

Instead of jumping straight for your phone to check your text-messages or Instagram timeline in the morning, take 10-15 minutes to sit in a comfortable position in a quiet area of your home and meditate on a soothing quote or phrase and spend time relaxing your mind Meditation is a great way to train your mind to be calm and also helps focus your mind throughout the rest of your day.

 

2. Listen to music throughout the day to keep you in a positive mood.

 

Studies have shown that music is a great way to set your mood through out the day. When you’re not on an important phone call or not interacting with your peers, listen to some positive and uplifitng music to keep you in good spirits and keep you motivated to have a great day.

3. Drink a nice cup of Green tea everyday

 

 

In 2015, there was a study done in Japan that determined that  whether green tea consumption is associated with positive mental health and a great way to keep your body energized to complete task throughout the day. Essentially, green tea is a great supplement to keep your mind relaxed and positive while also giving you a great boost of energy to get your business done everyday.

 

4. Get a good amount of rest every night

 

I know we discussed earlier that sometimes accomplishing our dreams means we don’t sleep for as long as we would like; however, giving your brain and body the required number of hours of sleep every night is vital in making sure you can properly function throughout the day. Studies say that you should at least get 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Slowly help your body get accustomed to sleeping the correct number of hours per night so you can wake up every morning ready to go and able to conquer your day.

I know these were very quick tips and may require working into your busy schedule; however, the outcome is definitely worth it and will help with you working towards accomplishing your dream everyday.
