Tylicia Sharmane Bolden is an inspirational writer, singer, actress, hostess, youth mentor, praise & worship leader, artist, minister and soon to be author. She was born and raised in Maryland but currently resides in Delaware with her husband Dontri Bolden. Altogether they have four sons Dontri Jr, Tykeem, Khalil, and Careen.
Ty’s passion is to empower, inspire, uplift and encourage youth to live out their dreams. Over the past two decades, she has worked in a wide variety of professional youth capacities. Currently, Ty is the Project Coordinator at the YMCA in Dorchester county serving at-risk youth involved in the juvenile system. Ty has completed many trainings in leadership, youth mentorship, community outreach, professionalism and business development. She is also pursuing her Associates degree in Human Services.
During her adolescent years, Ty struggled with low self-esteem, fear, depression and anxiety. She credits God for bringing her through such a low place in her life. In those trying times, her gifts of writing and singing developed.
Thus far, Ty has released a CD entitled “Heaven on my Mind” in 2006 and two singles, “Without your Love” and a wedding song entitled “I Do”, which are available on iTunes, cd baby and most online stores. She has plenty of good music on the way and also a comedic platform entitled, “Cousins Cuttin Up”, alongside her cousin, to bring laughter to real life issues.
In addition to music Ty has had leading roles in four stage plays, “How to Love a Saved Man” , “First Lady Diaries”, “Things Church People Won’t Say” and “ Voices of Freedom”.
Her mission is to make a difference every life she encounters and fulfill her life’s purpose on Earth. The motivation behind all Ty does is God, family, purpose and dream fulfillment. One of the mottos she lives by is “Live Bold”.
