Anti-Bullying Book ‘Herbie Goes to School’ Teaches Compassion
(Charleston, S.C.)– August 9, 2021– Every 1 Voice Matters Nonprofit Leader Sherrika Myers continues her mission to support children who stutter with the release of “Herbie Goes to School,” the second installment of the Lil Herbie Series book collection.
Stuttering awareness and anti-bullying mascot Lil Herbie returns as the speech impaired hero in “Herbie Goes to School.” The relatable character bred from humble beginnings symbolizes growth and perseverance as he embraces a new home and a new school. As Herbie endures challenges including social barriers, stuttering, and bullying, he becomes a model of self-love and self-esteem for readers.
“The Lil Herbie character represents the little child inside of me who once stuttered and any child who is facing any issue in life,” says Author Sherrika Myers. “There is a Lil Herbie inside of all of us who can overcome any obstacle and fulfill their dreams.”
The Lil Herbie Series book collection helps to educate children about social awareness, self awareness, self management, responsive decision making and relationship skills to grow into the best versions of themselves. In “Herbie Goes to School,” Herbie is afraid kids will laugh at him because he stutters. When he finally goes to his new school, he becomes self aware and realizes it is not as bad as he thought.
Written for ages 4-10, the story teaches children that all people are unique, add color to the world and every voice matters.
“Herbie Goes to School” is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback and digital formats. A Spanish language version is scheduled for future release.
