Houston Mom Plans to Share Her Blessings with Homeless Moms on Mother’s Day

WHAT: Hoodies 4 Healing “Day of Hope” Mother’s Day Celebration for Houston’s Homeless
WHENSunday May 9, 2021
TIME: 9am – 12pm
WHERE: Downtown Houston – Corner of Franklin & Commerce (across from Minute Maid Park)

Rosemary Tucker, a mom, entrepreneur, and Founder of the Hoodies4Healing Foundation, is planning a “Day of Hope” for Houston’s homeless moms, and anyone in need, for Mother’s Day, this Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 9:00am-12:00pm, in a parking lot located at the intersection of Franklin and Commerce streets in Downtown Houston!

Tucker will be sharing over 200 hot meals provided by Munchies Party Tacos, Gift Bags for homeless moms and women, “Bags of Blessings” containing bottled water, juice, disposable masks, silverware and reusable containers, and a Mother’s Day cake large enough to feed 200 at her Day of Hope Mother’s Day celebration

“I just want everyone to feel blessed and cared about on Mother’s Day, especially the displaced moms and ladies,” said Tucker.  “We’ll have special Mother’s Day gifts for the moms and women, pink tablecloths, a huge cake, and of course, a hot meal for anyone in need.  We have to share our blessings, and I have been so blessed, as a Mother, myself.  I can’t think of a more meaningful way to celebrate the day, than to share it with those who need a little love, hope and recognition.”

Tucker and her Hoodies4Healing Foundation have been providing hot meals for the homeless every Sunday at the corner of Franklin and Commerce since November 2020, rain or shine.  She founded Hoodies4Healing in 2019 when her daughter, DyAnna, developed a cyst in her brain that needed immediate surgery.  Tucker raised over $60,000 for the surgery by selling “I am Healed” hoodies and afterward made a promise to God that after her daughter’s successful surgery, she would use her time and the brand to help others in need.  A portion of every hoodie sold through the Foundation’s website and at her Blessties USA Boutique in Cypress, Texas, helps feed the homeless in Houston each week.

Tucker also recently launched a Mother of the Month (MOM) initiative through the Foundation to help single mothers pay for medical expenses for seriously ill children.  She is accepting nominations for single mothers for the MOM program via email at blesstiesusa@yahoo.com.

Tucker plans to provide food and gifts for 200-250 homeless individuals at the Day of Hope Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.
