KISH: Tell us about you..
PS: My name is Precious Smith aka Precious Simone. I am a proud native of Saint Louis, Missouri and I am what some might call a Renaissance Woman. By day, I am in Non-Profit Leadership servicing the community to help improve the lives of youth and families. By night, I am a motivational speaker, mentor and INNERstrength coach. I am an inspirational speaker with a powerful presence. I’ve had the opportunity to share my story with countless men and women and I’ve found the value in my journey of going From Pity to Purpose. Simply put, I speak LIFE!
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
PS: My dream is to see individuals whole and well. When a person is whole and well they are are able to contribute much to the lives of others and leave a generational impact. I am a firm believer that people need to have a healthy inner-core. When your core is weak, your entire body weakens and deteriorates at a rapid pace. But when your core is strong and you are rooted in something your entire body is balanced and well. I desire to see the Kingdom manifested in the lives of others. Seeing individuals walking in their purpose, and in the fullness of their potential is invaluable. It’s an affirmation of a job well done.
KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
PS: We all have that inner-knowing that we are called to something bigger than ourselves. At the age of 19, I was introduced to the love of God and came into a real intimate relationship with Him. I learned about the love of God in a way that radically changed my life. I came into the knowledge that the father desires for his children to see themselves the way that he does; whole and complete. The dream to see others whole was placed in my heart by the LORD. I know what it’s like to see darkness and to come out of something that I couldn’t do naturally on my own. That’s something worth sharing with the world. I’ve been there and have now been strengthened and overcome. Now I desire to strengthen and help others overcome.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
PS: While pursuing my dreams, I’ve faced disappoints; a divorce, feelings of abandonment and rejection. I questioned my worth, value and for one who never goes a day without a smile, I lost mine. The scripture says the joy of the Lord is my strength. Well for me, I lost that strength. Even as a believer, you never know how much a heartbreak can cause you to lose that inner motivation and drive to just believe. I pulled away from others and lost the one thing that I can never get back and that’s time. The Lord, the underdogs, the voiceless, the forgotten inspired me to continue to pursue my dreams regardless of the challenges that I was facing.
KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.
PS: While you are out here on this journey that we call life, it’s important for you to embrace the positive and the negative of your story. We are not going to always understand the reason why things go the way that they do but one thing we can rest assure of, is that there is a purpose for everything. Your story is not always for you. Sometimes it’s for the sister struggling to find her way. It’s for the brother, who can’t seem to catch a break. It’s for the ones struggling with that looming question, “Lord, Why Me?” To the ones out there that have experienced loss of any kind,I share my challenges as a testament of what’s possible when you embrace the reality that the painful parts of your journey are the most powerful. So don’t allow the fear of failure, life obstacles & battles, and hardships deter and distract you from your dreams. You owe it to yourself to keep dreaming. Your dreams deserve a chance. For what it’s worth, DREAM!
