KISH: The word is spreading about the Essence of a WOMAN conference which is coming this September. How has the planning process been so far getting the event in order?
Pastor Deedria: I’m so excited about THE Essence of A Woman Summit scheduled for September of 2021. Planning has been very strategic coming out of the pandemic. We want to make sure we are compliant and safe all while yielding a life-changing experience for women.
KISH: Is the event just for women or can men attend too?
Pastor Deedria: This platform highlights women however of course our amazing men are encouraged and welcome to be present in the space as well.
KISH: We understand that the conference will eventually travel around. In what ways will the conference make a difference in the world?
Pastor Deedria: Yes, this Summit is slated to travel to six cities bimonthly over the next 12 months. We are booked for Charlotte, NC, Jackson Ms, Orlando Florida, Memphis Tennessee, Dallas Texas, and of Course Atlanta, GA
KISH: What other projects/endeavors are you currently working on or involved in?
Pastor Deedria: We are working on tour dates for our stage play Daddy’s Home but My Husband Aint! which is written and directed by myself. I am actively growing our Church The GEM Church of Atlanta where greater empowerment resides. We are also planning a student beauty expo in October through my Barber and Beauty school CEI Hair Schools.
KISH: When you aren’t in entrepreneur mode, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Pastor Deedria: Well, I enjoy music, great food, and relaxing at home with my fiance. We also travel monthly just to get away.
KISH: Congratulations on your engagement! What advice would you have for women to balance love, life, and career?
Pastor Deedria: I would say if you are blessed to be an entrepreneur try to include your spouse and work on ventures together. As far as balance, having a spouse that compliments you helps to maintain balance. I don’t think two workaholics could work. Jaye Meggs, my fiance is so relaxed and fun, he always has a smile or a joke to keep me relaxed. Yet we are both Scorpios so we are equally driven and believe in crushing our goals and enjoying life.
KISH: What else can we be on the lookout for from you?
Pastor Deedria: Be on the lookout for my book “Pursuing Pretty” which will be out in January of 2022.
