KISH: Tell us about yourself.
Kinshawda is a loving mother of five beautiful children. She was born and raised in Florida with her two siblings. As a child she always wanted to be a nurse, in 2013 that dream came true. After successfully completing her goal of becoming a nurse she decided to embark on entrepreneurship. So in 2016 she started her very own homecare agency. While not stopping there she took the hardships, disappointments and failures of life to birth her ministry called “Off The Hamster Wheel”. This ministry is dedicated to helping women and teenage girls make better choices in life.
KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others?
Kinshawda knew that life’s most precious deed is helping others, even in the midst of us hurting at times. She wrote a book that would do just that for those who would read and apply the biblical principles for themselves. Her book “Setting the Stage” encourages the reader to make the choices that will benefit them in the present and also in the future.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
Kinshawda used her life as the groundwork for inspiring others. It’s this passion that fuels her many daily wisdom nuggets she posts on social media. Being a single mother, experiencing divorce and having “baby daddies” allowed her to relate to other women in her shoes.
KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
There have been many challenges Kinshawda had to learn to overcome in her life. The first was becoming a mother at age 19 which prompted her choice to drop out of college at the time. She put her dreams on hold to focus on caring for her child. Although she married a few years after, that marriage ended in divorce. So she was determined to allow God to rebuild her emotionally, spiritually and mentally before doing anything else. The journey wasn’t easy by far, even filled with mistakes along the way, but Kinshawda has remained determined not to quit.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
Her greatest motivation to keep pushing is her children. She wants her children to be inspired by what she’s overcome and to see her faith in God remain solid. Although managing a business, life and ministry is a juggling act she remains focused.
KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.
If her life could speak it would say never give up on your dreams or on yourself. There are times that your dreams may change according to where you are in life, and that’s okay. The point is find your purpose and allow God to direct you through the process.
