KISH: Tell us about you..
My name is Quinisha. I prefer to be called Q. I am originally from a small town called Peoria, Illinois. I moved to Atlanta in 2012 to broaden my horizons and opportunities for my career. I started the iModel Brand in Chicago in 2011 and graduated esthetics school in 2020. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children and everything I do is to be a role model for my children and to provide my children with a higher expectation for life.
KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others?
Quinisha : I can’t really speak about my dreams because they get a bit ambitious. But my goal is to continue to grow the iModel brand by providing more opportunities for beauty professionals to have a safe, upper echelon location to provide services for their clientele. We would also like to continue to spread our knowledge throughout our community by offering educational classes to beauty professionals who admire our brand as well as give back to our community by doing our annual food and clothes drives, toy giveaways etc. God willing everyone will benefit from our goals. Not only will iModel Beauty Bar be a one stop shop for all beauty needs, we will be a benefit to everyone in our community by providing jobs, donations and knowledge.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
Quinisha: I can’t really pinpoint any specific person or situation that inspired my dreams. I have always been ambitious and have always wanted to be successful in whatever I chose to do. However now that I am a mom, my kids inspire me to dream bigger than I ever thought I could.They motivate me, inspire me, and most of all they love me. My children are the reason for it all, they inspire me to get up every day and explore more avenues to provide them with more opportunities now and later in life.
KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
Quinisha: It’s always a challenge finding the perfect balance between my work and my personal life. I am a mother first, and I love my children and family unconditionally So quite naturally, wanting to be at every practice/game that my son has and every new accolade my daughter has. However, I struggle with wanting to spend as much time with them as possible and having to put in the hardwork and late hours into the brand and beauty bar. But to be honest, what is success without challenges? Although the road may get a little rocky, I thank God that I have amazing kids because they are so loving and understanding. My kids and my partner support me and motivate me to manage all of my businesses and still be the queen of the castle..
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
Quinisha: Well this is an easy question to answer. My partner for sure is who inspires me to keep pushing. He is so supportive and encouraging and helps me to always believe that we are a family & a unit. He definitely holds down the fort on my busier days and makes sure he takes care of me when I get home. I love him so much for this.
