K.I.S.H. Magazine Exclusive Interview featuring Trailblazer Shanniki P. Green!

KISH: Tell us about You:

Shanniki :Worshipper, mentor and anointed are characteristics of this Woman of God. She has devoted her life to God in true worship and desires to be used to motivate and inspire the Body of Christ. She is a Minister, Inspirational Speaker, Author, Life Coach and owner of Charlotte Ann Boutique. Most importantly she is a loving Mother of 2 and grandmother of Twin Boys (9 months Old). I have a deep passion for the issues and challenges Women and Youth face. I have used various formats such as radio, TV and Newspaper to be a voice for change. I have also volunteered at a local Women’s Shelter as a Workshop facilitator for Women who were in Domestic Violent relationships.

KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others?

Shanniki: My dream is to motivate and inspire Women and Youth to live in God’s purpose for their lives and to give them hope. Through my Coaching Business, I want to work with Single Mothers by helping them find their purpose, recover from pain and regain their passion in order to move forward in their life.

In the future, my dream is to open a Youth Center in my Community to motivate, encourage and inspire youth to be all that God created them to be. There are so many of our Youth who are lost, suicidal, and depressed, I want them to see that there is another option, there is another way. I want them to know they can be successful, they can be empowering and they can be a light in this dark world.

KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?

Shanniki: My life experiences inspired me to pursue my dreams. I’ve been through so much in my life. I’ve been overlooked, talked about, name scandalized, abused and left for dead, But God!!! Everything I endured has prepared me for this. Because I value the importance of bringing hope and inspiration to others, I will continue to pursue every dream that God has placed inside of me. So many think that they are by themselves and nobody understands what they are going through. I do understand and I know how it feels, that’s why I pursue, push and do all I can to bring my dreams to reality.

KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?

Shanniki: There have been many challenges and I’ve learned that when you are doing what God has called you to do, the enemy will fight you, the enemy will try to distract you and get you off course. I’ve also learned that if you keep pushing, keep persevering and keep praying, you can get through those challenges. Although there have been challenges, I am an overcomer. I’ve overcome Domestic Violence, Divorce, loneliness and hardship. All of these challenges have made me stronger and wiser.

KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?

Shanniki: My faith in God, the promises from God and my daughter is what inspires me to keep pushing. I want to show her that she too can follow her dreams regardless of the setbacks, roadblocks and challenges she may face. When I went through my divorce, although I was hurting and on the verge of depression, I had to be strong for her. I had to set an example for her. One thing I wanted to teach her was that as long as you have God, you can make it through anything. I was told that I wouldn’t make it, I was told that my dreams wouldn’t work and for a while I believed that. But I pushed through because of her. I didn’t want her to go through what I went through. I wanted more for her, so I had to show her that challenges will come, but what matters is how you handle those challenges. She needed to see God turn my pain into purpose.

KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.

Shanniki: Dreams don’t work unless you do. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to but you have to put in the work!

One of my favorite quotes is from C.S. Lewis, “ you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” I’ve spoken with many people who feel that once they’ve reached a certain age, then they no longer can find and walk in their purpose. I beg to differ. I teach people that as long as God wakes you up, you still have a purpose, you still have a goal and you still have a dream to fulfill. Stop letting your age hold you back from receiving everything God has for you.

No matter how young or old, keep dreaming dreamer!
