KISH: Tell us about you
PTJ: Young, diligent, classy, determined, are just some of the wordsspoken over my life over the years. As a pastor, native of Smyrna Delaware, and a well-respected figure within the community, serving not only as a spiritual guide but also as a voice to women in distress it is a honor to simply be effective in the lives of many.
The call to action began even in my youth as I helped and housed young women who had many problems with self-confidence, family, and sexuality. My testimony of overcoming childhood rejection, domestic violence, rape, and kidnapping is breath taking to hear; as an overcomer I help others see the light in themselves no matter their circumstance, decisions, or mistakes!
For over five glorious years I matriculated through the State of Delaware as a Social Service Specialist III/ Lead worker within the emergency Services department. This venture gave me the training and sensitivity needed to embrace my community in an impactful and tactical way.
I now serve Eden Veterans Refuge Inc. as Director; my duties oversee the daily operations of the program designed to cultivate veteran women and veteran women with children. I also serve as Campus Pastor of Eden International Inc., Chaplain in the National Chaplain Practitioner Association, instructor at Mantle Christian College, Chaplin, certified Life and Career Coach, and currently in the infancy stage of opening Eden Childcare and Learning Center LLC to cultivate our children. Lastly, I am proud to serve the state of Delaware as a foster parent to help children find their voice.
A Godly pride bubbles within knowing that my greatest accomplishment was to birth three fantastic children and mother a total of seven children, with my husband Bishop Jared O. Jackson.
KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others?
PTJ: My dream is to open a k-12 school to help teach, cultivate, and impact our community with the Love of God as well as open multiple recreational centers to be a safe and secure place for everyone not only as a recreational benefit but as a place of refuge and guidance. My dream is not one in which I would just benefit but to help our community understand the power and impact of KINGDOM development and enhancement.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
PTJ: I decided to pursue my dreams after seeing the negative effective that someone can have by judging those who may not look, talk, dress, or live the way the world sees. I knew I had to continue to follow my dreams because if I could save one person from making the wrong decision it can have the ability to change their lives forever. Years of watching those around me be talked down on allowed me to see the power of pouring into those around me. I believe if we become successful in any area in life we should use the wisdom to teach those around us! As we lift up one another it will allow us to shift our families economically, socially, and build a generation that will employee, cultivate, and pour back into their own communities!
KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
PTJ: There are many challenges when you are a young successful African American entrepreneur! The biggest challenged I have faced is those who do not believe in the quality of your accomplishment because you are young. Many believe when you are young and successful you haven’t grasped the wisdom on how to Sustain your success! We have to have the wisdom to pray and get a understand of the blessing given. Many pray to be successful and wealthy but the wise pray to have longevity in their success while being effective, anointed, teachable, and financially secure.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
PTJ: Throughout my life their where many that inspired me to keep pursing my dreams and encourage me in spite of any challenges. For example, one of my teachers Mr. Deism who told me “In spite of what is going on around you, you will never be another statistic. You are different and you will always stand out”. Prophet Clark Chester who taught me the true meaning of going out and reaching people where they are at, to push them to where God wants them to be. My husband Bishop Jared O. Jackson who taught me the power of walking by faith and the ability to please God in doing such. My Biggest inspiration would have to be my mother Violet Williams who throughout the years taught me the true meaning of helping others, loving everyone, and being there for people when they need you most! My inspiration from many of those in my life where their ability to Never give up in hard times but use the hard times to create the best lessons.
KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.
PTJ: To dream is to ponder the thought of the future but with faith the reality of what the future holds becomes the obtained substance of something Simple as A DREAM.
