KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you?
Shaquin: My dream is to have my own kitchen in which I can not only service my clients but also prepare complimentary meals to veterans, elderly, and the homeless and less fortunate people.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
Shaquin: I’ve always had a heart for my community and because my late father had a giving heart, the spirit of serving others was something I wanted to continue in memory of him.
KSH:  What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
Shaquin: Because of my service to others and my heart for the people, customers supported my business immensely. This sparked other businesses to be vindictive, try to shut my business down and more. Through prayer and faith, I’ve prospered even more and created other avenues of revenue through my brand including custom spices, cookbooks, and my customized kitchen and clothing products.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
Shaquin: My inspiration comes from my experiences. On the morning of April 23, 2017 I watched my father take his last breath while I was in the middle of preparing a full course meal for 200 people and I never once broke down. If I was able to make it through that day without wavering and I pushed through, I can face any challenge head on.
KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence…dream.
Shaquin: If you dream it, you can achieve it. The most important thing to remember is that your dreams don’t work unless YOU do.
