KISH:Tell us about you..
My name is Sonya Taylor. I am 51 Years old with a 31Year old daughter and 3year old grandson. My daughter Kyera and I both work in Pharmaceutical fulltime. I am owner of Meaningful Creations LLC where I offer T-shirts, tote bags, and much more. Kyera is owner of Twisted Jewels where she offers loc jewelry and apparel. Together we are both co-owners of Skin and Wicks LLC. Skin and Wicks offers a wonderful skin care line that is vegan and consists of natural oils and fragrance. We started Skin and Wicks in January of 2021. We are both very grateful and still in awe of God that it has become a product that our customers love and keep coming back for more.
KISH:What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others?
Sonya & Kyera: Our dream is that our Skin and Wicks company expands into a store front and people from all over the world will shop with us. We hope that we can continue to produce products that will help people for not only leisure purposes but healthy skin purposes as well.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to pursue this dream?
Sonya & Kyera: We first got inspired by being invited to our first popup shop where we did very well. My idea was to create soap and Kyera wanted to make body butters. So, we talked and agreed one day and within the next two weeks we birthed Skin and Wicks LLC.
KISH: What challenges have you encountered while pursuing your dream?
Sonya & Kyera: One of our greatest challenges has been keeping up with the demand on the product and learning the ins and outs of owning your own business.
KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?
Sonya & Kyera: As we gained more and more clientele, we began to realize we had a really good product that people not only loved but that we could actually make this another source of income for both of us.
KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.
Sonya & Kyera:As big as you can. You’ve got to be able to see the vision first before it can come to life. Dream with no end in sight, pray, trust God, and believe and it shall come to pass.
