K.I.S.H. Magazine Interview featuring Tamara Guillory

KISH: Tell us about you..

I am a native of Port Artur with a message of empowerment to the world! As an ordained minister, author, motivational speaker, and life coach, I am admired for being my true authentic self, known for my dynamic preaching, edifying teachings, and exhorting delivery. My life and ministry convey a message of freedom that releases the weights of bondage off the wounded, helpless, and oppressed. I have been called to set a new course of inspiration and empowerment that encourages, equips, empowers, and transforms the lives of people.

My struggles shaped me to become an author and motivational speaker. Through the crucible of difficult and trying times, I have emerged refined. My dark place and afflictions pushed me to be the woman that I am today. Life has taught me what it means to be resilient and always to look toward new and promising horizons. Psalms 45:1 describes me best “My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” I write whatever God places on my heart and turn it into a book of empowerment. I have been intentional about this since 2002. Some of the books I have authored are

God’s Poet, Empower, and my most recent book is Be Your Own Motivation. It gives me great satisfaction knowing my books are being read all over the world and changing lives! I have had the pleasure of appearing on WE TV where my documentary was aired, spoken on the radio, and have spoken at various conferences.

KISH: What is your dream and how will accomplishing your dream benefit you and others? Once God changed my life

Tamara: A dream of mine has always been to inspire and empower others to fulfill their God-given potential. Once God changed my life, He gave me a message of hope for rescuing the hopeless and downtrodden. As a Christian, my heartfelt compassion has always been to free those who are captives through God’s word, so that they can escape addictive, destructive, and unhappy lifestyles.

KISH: Who or what inspired you to keep pushing regardless of the challenges you’ve encountered?

Tamara: Despite my many challenges, my faith in God, my mother, my children, and my grandmother inspired me to keep going. They have believed in me even when I doubted myself, and they recognized my potential even in the face of adversity. As a result of my grandmothers’ prayers and my mother’s passion and drive, I have done more and accomplished more than I ever imagined I would; she invested her time, energy, and resources in making me better and well equipped to achieve all my goals. I lost my mother in 2020, though difficult to accept or bear, her death and passing made me stronger, more resilient, and more determined. Memories of my mother creates a positive atmosphere that drives my creative journey, and her encouraging words will forever persist in my heart forever.

KISH: Please provide final thoughts/advice for others by finishing this sentence… dream.

Tamara: Dreams will never come true without self-motivation. To manifest your dreams, you must look within and engage your inbuilt capacity to achieve that dream. In order to fulfill the very purpose for which you were born, you need to tap into the divine resources deposited within you, so that you can utilize these divine resources to fulfill the very purpose for which you were created. Your dream should always come from within you, not from someone else. You have been anointed for a specific assignment, so DREAM BIG and work hard to see the bigger picture, and don’t let self-doubt destroy your dreams!
