VIP Recovery Care, which provides plastic surgery patients with specialized 24/7 post-operative nursing care and all the amenities of first-class hotels in private penthouse recovery suites, has added Lymphatic Massage and Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy to an extensive list of services created to ensure plastic surgery patients in Houston receive both the customized medical attention they need to improve recovery times and outcomes and personal relaxation and pampering services that promote overall health and wellbeing.
“We’re continually researching technology and accredited services that have been clinically proven to help patients achieve the best postoperative results, while promoting overall health, comfort and wellbeing during the recovery process and beyond,” said Dr. Stacy Sam, Founder and President of VIP Recovery Care. “We’re excited to add IV nutrient therapy and lymphatic massage to our services, both of which are excellent treatments that aid in the healing process, to help patients recover safely, with better results, so they can get back to their normal lives as soon as possible.”
The new VIP lymphatic massage is a gentle, rhythmic massage that helps to move the fluid that builds up after surgery back into the lymphatic passages where excess waste and fluid can be flushed from the body.
Swelling is one of the side effects of cosmetic surgery and part of the body’s normal healing process. However, certain procedures like tummy tucks and liposuction can cause additional swelling and excess fluid and fat cells, which can harden within a few weeks of surgery.
Lymphatic massage therapists gently massage the lymph nodes and guide excess fluid toward lymphatic passages to be expelled naturally to help prevent fibrosis (fibrous scar tissue under the skin), while also reducing bruising and swelling, which provides better results and more comfort for patients after surgery.
IV treatments during recovery can help with faster healing by improving hydration and blood flow, improving wound healing with high doses of Vitamin C and Zinc, and replenishing micronutrients and vitamins that impact on the immune system and the body’s ability to heal. Deficiencies in micronutrients and vitamins can leave patients recovering from surgery more susceptible to complications, bruising, swelling, and inflammation.
Dr. Stacy Sam, Ph.D., RN, MSN, MPH, an 18-year veteran registered nurse and college professor who specializes in women’s health and plastic surgery recovery, officially launched VIP Recovery Care in early 2022 to address the lack of recovery options available to patients undergoing cosmetic and plastic surgery in Houston.
The VIP suites offer 24-hour nursing care, luxury transportation, organic meals, snacks and full in-suite custom-stocked kitchens, postoperative care coordination with surgeons, and aftercare specialists that help patients with pain management, wound care, dressing changes, complication prevention, bathroom assistance and other postsurgical medical needs, while also offering concierge spa amenities like therapeutic massage, manicures, pedicures, and hair care!
In addition to the new IV Therapy and Lymphatic Massage services, VIP Recovery Care also just added its own staff MD on call for consultations, emergencies, and primary care physician needs!
VIP Recovery Care is a comprehensive service that provides plastic and cosmetic surgery patients with a comfortable and safe transition into a complete recovery with professional nursing postop care and relaxation services in both the Private Luxury Recovery Suites and with a mobile VIP Tuck-In service for patients in their own home or at a Houston hotel of choice.
